Welcome to Canine & Equine Care
Hi, I’m Alex and this is Canine & Equine Care. I began this journey in 2021, after a decade working in the NHS. My passion has always been working with animals, and post-pandemic I finally took the leap to start my own business dedicated to doing just that.
I have cared for my own dogs, horses, cats, fish, chickens and more for most of my life and have spent the last fifteen years working up to competing my horses at national level. Now I can confidently bring the skills and experience I have built to my clients and their animals.
I offer a variety of care services for dogs and horses, but if there’s something you need that is missing, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and I’ll see what I can do. I’m based in Midlothian, Scotland and cover the following areas: Pathhead, Gorebridge, Newtongrange, Mayfield, Dalkeith and Bonnyrigg. A New Chapter
Chloe joined Canine & Equine Care in July 2025 after deciding she wanted a change of pace and more time outdoors. She left her job as a beautician at Dalhousie Castle and hasn’t looked back since — she loves getting out in the fresh air with the dogs and seeing their different wee personalities every day.
Animals have always been a big part of Chloe’s life. When she’s not out walking, she’ll be with her pony Pixie, her two dogs Mini and Jinx, or busy being mum to her lovely wee boy, Oliver. Working three days a week gives her the balance she needs, with time for family and to spend with her granny, who’s a big part of her life.
Chloe is out with us on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, taking the groups on their countryside adventures and getting to know each dog as an individual.
We’re really lucky to have her — and the dogs have welcomed her with waggy tails and plenty of kisses!
